Second Youth Duck Hunt of Season is Saturday, Feb. 2

LITTLE ROCK  Geese numbers appeared up again the the Grand Prairie region of the state last weekend, which bodes well for hunters taking advantage of the Light Goose Conservation Order now in effect in Arkansas until April 25.

Waterfowlers may hunt snow, blue and Ross's geese through April 25 with no limit on the geese and electronic calls allowed. The only day the Conservation Order will be closed during the next three months is on Saturday (Feb. 2), which is the second of two Youth Duck Hunts in Arkansas. On Saturday, any youths under the age of 16 can hunt with a mentor age 21 or older. The mentor may call the ducks and help retrieve but cannot carry a firearm or hunt. All WMAs are available to youth hunting from 30 minutes before sunrise until sunset. The limits are the same for all ducks as they would be for the just concluded regular, 60-day duck season. For more information, visit agfc.com.
