Sept. 1, 2025-Feb. 21, 2026. Open Thursdays through Mondays only. No limit.

2025-26 Deer

Deer Archery: Sept. 6-8 (antlered bucks only); Sept. 27-Feb. 28.
Deer Alternative Firearms: Oct. 18-26 and Dec. 13-15.
Deer Modern Gun: Nov. 8-30 and Dec. 26-28.
Deer Modern Gun Special Youth Hunt: Nov. 1-2 and Jan. 3-4.

WMA Deer Bag Limit: Four deer, no more than two antlered bucks, which may include:

  • Two antlered bucks with archery, alternative firearms or modern gun,
  • Four antlerless with archery,
  • One antlerless with alternative firearms or modern gun.
  • During youth hunt, youths may take three deer, two antlered bucks and one antlerless.

Deer Notes:

  • No antler restrictions.
  • No dogs.

Eurasian Collared Doves must remain fully feathered in the field and while being transported from the field.

Dove Notes: The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission prepares a few fields each year for the opening weekend of dove season so the public has a place to enjoy this exciting form of wingshooting. Dove fields on WMAs are available on a first-come, first-served basis. WMA acreage put into dove fields is relatively small because most hunters only pursue doves the first few days of the season. However, after opening weekend of dove season, many wildlife species feed in the fields, particularly those that were top sown with winter wheat.

2025-26 Quail

Nov. 1, 2025-Feb. 1, 2026. Daily limit – 6, possession limit – 12.

2025-26 Rabbit

Sept. 1, 2025-Feb. 28, 2026. Daily limit – 8, possession limit – 16.

2025-26 Squirrel

May 15, 2025-Feb. 28, 2026. Dogs allowed. Daily limit – 12, possession limit – 48.

2024-25 Waterfowl

Waterfowl Notes:

  • Petit Jean River WMA will be open to waterfowl hunting only on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from Nov. 23-Jan. 29 east of Arkansas Highway 7. Waterfowl hunting west of Highway 7 is allowed all days of the week from Nov. 23-Jan. 30. All-day hunting is allowed Jan. 31 and Feb. 8-9.
  • The 25-shell restriction on this WMA does not apply to Keeland Lake, Club House Pond, Lily Pad Pond, Kingfisher Lake and the Petit Jean River. These
    areas do not fall under Common Restriction A.
  • No boats allowed Nov. 16-22, Dec. 3-9 and Dec. 24-26.
    Exception – Boats allowed on the following waters:
    • Petit Jean River, Kingfisher Lake, Keeland Lake, Clubhouse Pond and Lily Pad Pond.
  • Closed to all access (except in designated campsites, parking areas and boat launch ramps) from 2-4 a.m., Nov. 23-Jan. 31 and Feb. 8-9 (except in the Petit
    Jean River, Keeland Lake and Kingfisher Lake).
  • No boats allowed from 1 p.m. to 4 a.m. Nov. 23-Dec. 2, Dec. 10-23 and Dec. 27-Jan. 31.
    Exception 1 – Boats allowed from 1-6:30 p.m. Jan. 31 and Feb. 8-9.
    Exception 2 – Boats allowed from 1-6:30 p.m. on the following waters:
    • Petit Jean River, Kingfisher Lake, Keeland Lake, Clubhouse Pond and Lily Pad Pond.
  • No boats allowed Monday, Wednesday and Friday from Nov. 23-Jan. 29 east of Arkansas Highway 7.
  • No airboats during duck season (excluding Petit Jean River and Kingfisher Lake).

2025 Bear

Bear Alternative Firearms: Oct. 18-26.
Bear Modern Gun: Nov. 8-30.
Bear Modern Gun Youth Hunt: Nov. 1-2.

Youth Hunt: April 11-12. One legal turkey.
