Sept. 3, 2026-Feb. 21, 2027. Open Thursdays through Mondays only. No limit.

2026-27 Deer

Deer Archery: Aug. 29-31 (one antlered buck only); Sept. 26-Feb. 28.
Deer Alternative Firearms (permit required): Oct. 17-21.
Deer Modern Gun (permit required): Nov. 14-18.
Deer Modern Gun Youth Hunts: Nov. 7-8 (permit) and Jan. 2-3 (no permit).

WMA Deer Bag Limit: Three deer, no more than two antlered bucks (3-Point Rule applies), which may include:

  • Two antlered bucks with archery,
  • Three antlerless deer with archery,
  • One antlered buck and one antlerless deer with alternative firearms permit,
  • One antlered buck and one antlerless deer with modern gun permit,
  • During youth hunt, youths may take two deer, one antlered buck (no antler restrictions) and one antlerless deer.

2026 Bear

Bear Archery: Sept. 9-Nov. 30.
Bear Alternative Firearms: Oct. 17-21 (deer permit holders only).
Bear Modern Gun: Nov. 14-18 (deer permit holders only).
Bear Youth Modern Gun: Nov. 7-8 (youth deer permit holders only).

Bear Notes: Seasons close earlier when Bear Zone 1 quota is reached.

2026-27 Dove

Sept. 5-6 (permit required). Sept. 7-Oct. 25 and Dec. 8-Jan. 15 (open hunting).

Mourning Dove and White-Winged Dove

Eurasian Collared-Dove
No daily or possession limit
Eurasian Collared Doves must remain fully feathered in the field and while being transported from the field.

Dove Notes: The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission prepares a few fields each year for the opening weekend of dove season so the public has a place to enjoy this exciting form of wingshooting. Dove fields on WMAs are available on a first-come, first-served basis. WMA acreage put into dove fields is relatively small because most hunters only pursue doves the first few days of the season. However, after opening weekend of dove season, many wildlife species feed in the fields, particularly those that were top sown with winter wheat.

2027 Turkey

Youth Turkey (permit required): April 10-11. One legal turkey.
Firearms (permit required): April 19-21, April 24-26, May 1-3 and May 7-9. One legal turkey.

  • Craig D. Campbell Lake Conway Reservoir Nursery Pond is closed to hunting.

Camping

Camping is allowed only in designated areas.

Hunting Opportunities

Permit hunts are available for deer. The area often has a few acres of dove fields planted each year as well.

Location

Camp Robinson Special Use Area is approximately 9 miles east of Mayflower, adjacent to Lake Conway on Clinton Road.

Management Practices

Many management practices are in use at Camp Robinson SUA, from food plots and special agricultural plantings to prescribed fire and selective thinning of overstory trees.

Purpose

The property was previously part of Camp Joe T. Robinson before being deeded to the AGFC for conservation purposes. The SUA is intensively managed for a host of both game and non-game wildlife species. The area also supports the AGFC’s enforcement training center, an archery range and firing range, complete with rifle, pistol, skeet and trap shooting.

Restaurants and Other Facilities

The town of Mayflower, 9 miles to the west, offers a few small restaurants and gas stations. The cities of Conway and Little Rock are about 15 miles from the SUA, and offer ample lodging, shopping and dining.
