Applications for the 2026-27 school year will open April 7.
The AGFC Student Leader Council is an opportunity for engaging, collaborative and conservation-focused students to work directly with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Education Division.
Selected students from around the state of Arkansas will work alongside AGFC Education staff and gain access to exciting learning experiences to bring back to their classrooms.
Participation of selected students in the AGFC Student Leadership Council will run from July 2026 – June 2027.
The Goals of the AGFC Student Leader Council
- To further leadership skills and conservation knowledge.
- To engage directly with your peers from around the state through immersive learning and leadership experiences in outdoor recreation and conservation.
- To learn alongside Arkansas Game and Fish experts and explore best practices in conservation.
- To embed conservation knowledge and outdoor education into the hearts of their schools.
Criteria:
- The nominee must be a student at any public, private, charter school, or homeschool in Arkansas.
- The nominee must have an interest in conservation, environmental science, or outdoor recreation.
- The nominee must be able to attend in-person meetings once scheduled.
- The nominee must be able to attend virtual meetings.
- The nominee must have a willingness to try conservation and outdoor recreation experiences and skills based learning opportunities and share feedback about those with staff.
- The nominee must be interested in leading conservation and outdoor recreation lessons with peers.
- Applications are due April 24. Selected administrators will be announced May 1.
