Are you a high school student interested in a career as a game warden?

Serve Where It Matters (S.W.I.M.) is a behind-the-scenes look at the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s enforcement division. High school students across the state are invited to join game wardens for a few hours, learning and experiencing first-hand what our dedicated public servants accomplish in an everyday setting.

Three regional events will be available for students, limited to 100 attendees each. In each session, you will hear more about:

  • Special Operations: Learn more about the specialized areas game wardens can pursue, including work with K-9 units, Dive Team, UAS (Drone) team and the tradition of our Honor Guard.
  • The Front Lines: Hear the real stories of the reality of patrolling remote areas solo, conducting surveillance on poaching operations, enforcing boating under the influence (BUI) laws and the technical side of investigating wildlife crimes.
  • The Path Forward: Gain a clear roadmap on how to transition from a high school senior to a cadet in the Academy.
