WMA Deer Bag Limit: Five deer, no more than two bucks, which may include: 

  • Two bucks with archery, muzzleloader or modern gun,
  • Five does with archery, 
  • Four does with muzzleloader and modern gun combined.
  • During youth hunt, youths may take five deer, no more than two bucks (no antler restrictions) or five does.

Deer Notes:

  • 12-inch inside spread or 15-inch main beam rule.
  • No dogs.
2023-24 Quail

Nov. 1, 2023-Feb. 5, 2024. Daily limit – 6, possession limit -12. 

While training bird dogs, you may use handguns or shotguns with blank ammunition. Pen-raised quail may be taken with a Shoot-To-Kill Bird Dog Field Training Permit. This permit is available from your local wildlife officer.

2023-24 Rabbit

Sept. 1, 2023-Feb. 29, 2024. Daily limit – 8, possession limit – 16. 

2023-24 Squirrel

May 15, 2023-Feb. 29, 2024. Dogs allowed. Daily limit – 12, possession limit – 48.

2024 Turkey

Youth Hunt (permit required): April 6-7, 2024. One legal turkey.
Firearms Hunt (permit required): April 15-17, 2024. One legal turkey.

The area is located east of the Bradley community on Hwy. 29. Several access points are available along Hwy 29 north and south of town and along Hwy 160 east of town.


The area was established as a WMA in 1970.

Area Notes
  • A free annual General Use Permit (WMP) is required to hunt or trap on WMAs. Permits are available online by clicking “Buy Licenses” at or by calling 833-345-0325 or any regional office.
  • Check antler restrictions for important additional information.
  • Hunters and trappers 16 or older are required to purchase a Lafayette County WMA leased lands permit.
  • Roads may be closed due to wet or flooded conditions. Vehicles must stay on maintained or graveled roads.
  • Buckshot may not be used.

Camping is allowed in designated sites along the North CCC Road.


The area consists primarily of intensively managed pine timberlands with hardwood buffers along the major streams.

Hunting Opportunities

Deer, quail, turkey, squirrel, rabbits, and waterfowl (on Lake Erling). See current regulations for seasons and bag limits.


It is located in Lafayette County, just east of the community of Bradley.

Management Practices

Wildlife management practices are integrated with timber management practices to provide quality wildlife habitat and hunting opportunities.

  • In addition to a General WMA Use Permit, a Lafayette County WMA leased lands permit is required to hunt, trap or camp on the area. Leased lands permits may be purchased at any license vendor, AGFC regional office or online at
  • Roads may be closed due to wet or flooded conditions.
  • Vehicles must stay on maintained or graveled roads.
  • Buckshot may not be used.

This 12,306-acre area is owned by several private companies.




The primary objective of this management area is to provide quality wildlife habitat and public hunting opportunities.

Recreation Other Than Hunting

Lake Erling borders the WMA on the east and provides excellent fishing opportunities. Spring Bank and Sulphur River WMA’s are located approximately 7 and 15 miles to the west, respectively.

Restaurants and Other Facilities

Facilities are located in Springhill, LA or Bradley and Magnolia, AR. Bass Haven Restaurant and Lodge are located on Lake Erling. They have lodging as well as RV hookups and a boat launch. They can be reached at 870-694-6221.


This WMA has been under a quality deer management program for several years and large deer have been harvested here consistently.
