Millwood Reservoir is a popular fishing lake located 8 miles northeast of Ashdown, Arkansas. It was constructed in the mid-1960s by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for flood control, recreation, water supply, and wildlife management. The lake impounds 29,200 acres of the Little River watershed and is home to a variety of fish species, including Largemouth Bass, Spotted Bass, Black Crappie, White Crappie, Channel Catfish, Blue Catfish, Flathead Catfish, Bluegill, Redear Sunfish, Warmouth, and Green Sunfish. The USACE maintains 10 concrete boat ramps at nine access areas located throughout Millwood Lake, and Millwood State Park near Ashdown also offers a marina and camping facilities.
