Atkins Lake is a 752-acre lake located in Pope County, AR that was constructed in 1956 and is known for its trophy-class fish. It is packed with stumps, brush and logs, providing excellent fish habitat, and is accessible from roads off Arkansas Highways 105 and 324. There are 6 boating access points around the lake, and Handicapped-accessible fishing piers are available. Boat lanes are cut through some of the timber, but boaters should watch for submerged stumps and logs. Visible cover includes cypress trees, standing dead timber, stumps, willows, and buckbrush. Restaurants, motels and other amenities are available in nearby Russellville and Dardanelle, AR.
