2019-20 Deer

Deer Archery: Sept. 28, 2019-Feb. 29, 2020.
Deer Muzzleloader: Oct. 19-27 and Dec. 29-31, 2019.
Deer Modern Gun: Nov. 9-Dec. 15 and Dec. 26-28, 2019.
Deer Modern Gun Special Youth Hunt: Nov. 2-3, 2019 and Jan. 4-5, 2020.
WMA Deer Bag Limit: Four deer, no more than two bucks, which may include: 

  • Two bucks with archery, muzzleloader or modern gun,
  • Four does with archery,
  • Two does with muzzleloader and modern gun combined.
  • During youth hunt, youths may take four deer, two bucks (no antler restrictions) and two does.

Deer Notes:

  • Three-point rule.
  • No dogs.
2019-20 Quail

Nov. 1, 2019-Feb. 2, 2020. Daily limit - 6, possession limit -12. Bird dogs allowed.

2019-20 Rabbit

Sept. 1, 2019-Feb. 29, 2020. Daily limit - 8, possession limit - 16. Dogs allowed except during firearms deer hunts.

2019-20 Squirrel

May 15, 2019-Feb. 29, 2020. Dogs allowed except during firearms deer hunts. Daily limit - 12, possession limit - 48.

2020 Turkey

Youth Hunt: April 11-12, 2020. Two legal turkeys, no more than one jake.
Firearms Hunt: April 13-28, 2020. Two legal turkeys, no jakes (youths may take one jake as part of their statewide seasonal limit).


The area is accessible only by boat from the Little River north of Fulton.


Little River WMA was transferred to the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in 1991.


Nearest camping facilities are at Millwood Lake State Park on Hwy. 32, west of Saratoga.


The area is primarily bottomland hardwood and is inundated often.

Hunting Opportunities

Deer, quail, turkey, squirrel, and rabbits. The bottomland hardwood provides some excellent waterfowl hunting opportunities when flooded.


It is located in Hempstead County, on the Little River north of Fulton.

Management Practices

Active management is limited on this area due to inaccessibility.


This 597-acre area is owned by the AGFC.




The primary objective of this management area is to provide quality wildlife habitat and public hunting opportunities.

Recreation Other Than Hunting

Other recreational opportunities are limited due to inaccessibility. Millwood Lake and Pond Creek NWR are located directly to the north. Old Washington Historic State Park is located 15 miles to the northeast.

Restaurants and Other Facilities

The nearest restaurants are in Hope, Fulton, or Texarkana.


Extreme Caution should be used when boating on the Red River and Little River.
