Sept. 1, 2017-Feb. 19, 2018. Open Thursdays through Mondays. No limit.
Nov. 1, 2017-Feb. 4, 2018. Daily limit - 6, possession limit -12. Bird dogs allowed.
Sept. 1, 2017-Feb. 28, 2018. Daily limit - 8, possession limit - 16. Dogs allowed except during firearms deer hunts.
May 15, 2017-Feb. 28, 2018. Dogs allowed except during firearms deer hunts. Daily limit - 12, possession limit - 48.
Youth Hunt: April 8-9, 2017. One bearded turkey. Firearms Hunt: April 10-18, 2017. One bearded turkey, no jakes (youths may take one jake as part of their statewide seasonal limit).
Access points are located along Hwy. 108 between Ashdown and Foreman and north of the Wallace Community on Hwy 32.
The area was established as a WMA in 1999.
Camping is permitted on the area at designated campsites.
This area is in the Little River and Red River drainage systems and primarily consists of intensively managed pine timberlands and mixed pine/hardwood tracts.
Deer, quail, turkey, squirrel, and rabbits. See current regulations for seasons and permit requirements.
Gum Flats WMA is in Little River County between Ashdown and Foreman.
Wildlife management practices are integrated with timber management practices to provide quality wildlife habitat and hunting opportunities. These management practices provide substantial open land habitats and stimulate excellent browse production.
This area consists of approximately 15,000 acres of Weyerhaeuser Company land.
The primary objective of this management area is to provide quality wildlife habitat and public hunting opportunities.
Millwood Lake offers good fishing opportunities and lies about 10 miles to the east.
Facilities are located in Ashdown and Foreman.
Due to the large network of Weyerhaeuser roads that run throughout the area it is recommended that anyone not familiar with the area obtain an area map from the AGFC office.
