Sugar Loaf Lake is a 334-acre impoundment constructed by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission in 1958. It is situated 19 miles south of Fort Smith, Arkansas, in Sebastian County. The lake boasts a diverse fish community typical of a highland impoundment, with species like Largemouth Bass, Spotted Bass, Black Crappie, White Crappie, Bluegill, Redear Sunfish, and Channel Catfish. Access to the lake is provided at two AGFC-owned areas, offering opportunities for bank fishing, boating, primitive camping, and more.
