Spring River Trout Management Plan Meeting Canceled

MAMMOTH SPRING — Tonight’s scheduled public input meeting for the Spring River Trout Management Plan has been canceled due to inclement weather and predicted deteriorating road conditions in Northeast Arkansas.

MAMMOTH SPRING — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will host a special public meeting at the Mammoth Spring School Complex from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 16 to gather public input on a trout management plan specific to Spring River. The Complex is at 410 Goldsmith Ave. in Mammoth Spring.

AGFC asks boaters to use caution on Spring River

MAMMOTH SPRING – The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is asking anyone floating the Spring River in Fulton County to avoid the area near Sadler Falls. A sinkhole has opened below the falls near Dead Man’s Curve. Around noon Saturday, the resulting whirlpool was the location of a fatal boating accident.

Spring River hatchery fighting back against flood damage

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Jim Hinkle Spring River State Fish Hatchery in Mammoth Spring is recovering from widespread flooding that resulted from a storm on April 29 that dumped more than 8 inches of rain in the region.
