LITTLE ROCK — The 2021-22 Waterfowl Guidebook will soon be arriving in AGFC regional offices, nature centers and local sporting goods stores and license vendors throughout the state. An electronic version also is available for those who want to carry a copy on their smartphone, or simply want to get a sneak peek at what’s new for the season.

Check dove fields for bait before hunting

LITTLE ROCK – Dove season opens September 4, and many hunters will gather at a field of a friend or family member to enjoy the kickoff to hunting season. Others will be paying to hunt a prepared field they found through social media postings or the corkboard at the local feed supply store. Regardless of the destination, now’s the time for a little extra legwork to make sure your hunting year doesn’t begin with a blunder. Be sure to check the field you plan to hunt now to ensure baiting has not taken place.

Leftover WMA Deer Hunt Permits available July 21

LITTLE ROCK – More than 300 leftover WMA deer hunt permits for Arkansas wildlife management areas will be available for purchase beginning 8 a.m., Wednesday, July 21. These permits cover modern gun, muzzleloader and mobility-impaired hunts that weren’t awarded through the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s annual WMA deer permit drawing earlier this month.
