First youth waterfowl hunt of Arkansas’s 2018-19 season Saturday

LITTLE ROCK - The ducks have a brief rest between the segments of duck hunting season, but on Saturday, the first of two youth waterfowl hunts will have hunters back in the woods in search of Arkansas’s premiere game species. 
 

AGFC adds nearly 6,000 new acres of public access in 2018

LITTLE ROCK – Thanks to federal money through the Pittman-Robertson Act, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has been able to add nearly 6,000 acres to its wildlife management system in time for the 2018 hunting seasons and for other recreational use. 
 

AGFC proposes changes to non-resident waterfowl hunting on public land

LITTLE ROCK – Commissioners with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission proposed an amendment to waterfowl hunting regulations today to specify when non-residents can hunt waterfowl on wildlife management areas to specific blocks of dates.

CROSSETT - Hunters in south Arkansas soon will have more than 3,600 new acres of public land to pursue their passion, thanks to the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s approval to purchase a large block of land bordering Beryl Anthony Lower Ouachita Wildlife Management Area at its March 22 meeting. 

Adjustments to nonresident waterfowl permits proposed

There may be some limits to the amount of time nonresident hunters may pursue waterfowl on Arkansas Game and Fish Commission controlled wildlife management areas in the next year. After many phone calls, letters and posts to social media from Arkansas hunters, the AGFC is proposing one possible way to give resident hunters additional preference on public land in The Natural State.
