First waterfowl report for the 2018-19 season available online

LITTLE ROCK – Opening day of Arkansas’s 2018-19 duck season is Saturday, and the first report for habitat conditions on Arkansas Game and Fish Commission wildlife management areas is available to get the lowdown on prospective hunting areas.

AGFC air drops waterfowl habitat on Millwood Lake

SARATOGA - Arkansas Game and Fish Commission biologists increased the food available to wintering waterfowl on Millwood Lake last Friday with a special air delivery of Japanese millet around 500 acres along the edge of the lake.
 

Arkansas alligator hunt permits drawn

LITTLE ROCK – The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission conducted the annual alligator hunt permit draw last Friday, July 6, and 108 lucky hunters will be shining the water this September in search of one of Arkansas’s largest big game species.

LITTLE ROCK – Applications for the 2018 Arkansas alligator season will be available at www.agfc.com from June 15-midnight June 30. Arkansans now have more opportunity than ever to score an alligator tag, as the south-central portion of the state has been opened to harvest.

GEORGETOWN – Despite horrible conditions throughout the state for much of the 2017-18 waterfowl season, one wildlife management area has continued to provide hunters with increasingly good hunts since its purchase. Steve N. Wilson Raft Creek Bottoms WMA in White County turned in impressive harvest numbers, especially considering the conditions.
