PYATT — Arkansas Game and Fish Commission biologists are collecting and tagging smallmouth bass for angler-based research on Crooked Creek near Yellville. Dozens of smallmouth in this blue-ribbon fishery will sport yellow and red tags inserted alongside the dorsal fin worth a monetary reward.

LITTLE ROCK – Thanks to the efforts of the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation and many volunteers, and donations from Arkansas Game and Fish Commissioners, high school anglers in Arkansas have a new pinnacle to pursue in bass fishing: the Commissioners’ Cup. In its inaugural year, the tournament will take place on Lake Hamilton June 1-2.

LITTLE ROCK – Thanks to a proclamation by Gov. Asa Hutchinson, anyone may fish in Arkansas without a fishing license or trout stamp from noon, Friday, June 7, through midnight Sunday night, June 9.

HOT SPRINGS – A local bass tournament on Lake Hamilton became even more profitable than expected for four lucky tourney anglers, who each hauled $1,000 prize-winning bass Saturday, May 4, the fourth day of the 2019 $101,000 Hot Springs Fishing Challenge.
