The Arkansas River is a popular destination for recreational anglers, boasting a diverse array of fish species including Largemouth Bass, catfish, White Bass, crappie, and bream. Spanning 2,339 km (1,435 mi.), the river is contained within the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System, which serves multiple purposes such as flood control, navigation, hydroelectric power production, fish and wildlife habitat, water supply, and channel stabilization.
