LITTLE ROCK – Many Arkansas hunters already have started putting some fresh venison in the freezer, and there’s no better way to celebrate the hunt than sharing the harvest with friends at deer camp.
Hollie Sanders, facility manager at the Witt Stephens Jr. Central Arkansas Nature Center, has a fantastic recipe that warms the bones on chilly fall evenings. Best of all, it can be whipped up right alongside the campfire in a traditional Dutch oven.
Check out Coney Island Venison Chili with Cornbread Deer Dogs on the AGFC’s YouTube channel.

Sanders holds Dutch oven cooking classes full of fantastic outdoors recipes at the nature center each year. Visit www.centralarkansasnaturecenter.com for more information on events and workshops.
