2026-27 Deer

Deer Archery: Aug. 29-31 (one antlered buck only); Sept. 26-Feb. 28.
Deer Alternative Firearms: Oct. 17-25.
Deer Modern Gun: Nov. 14-Dec. 20 (dogs allowed) and Dec. 26-28 (no dogs).
Deer Modern Gun Youth Hunt (permit required): AsĀ set by the Corps of EngineersĀ (no dogs).
Deer Modern Gun Youth Hunts: Nov. 7-8 and Jan. 2-3. No antler restrictions apply.

WMA Deer Bag Limit: Three deer, no more than two antlered bucks (3-Point Rule applies), which may include:

  • Two antlered bucks with archery, alternative firearms or modern gun,
  • Three antlerless deer with archery,
  • Two antlerless deer with alternative firearms and modern gun combined,
  • Nonresidents hunting with dogs are limited to one deer during the last nine days of the regular modern gun season.

2025-26 Waterfowl

Waterfowl Notes:

  • A mobility-impaired waterfowl hunt will be held and administered by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers personnel on the Lower DeGray Lake Waterfowl Rest Area. A free permit is required. During this hunt, access on the Lower DeGray Lake Waterfowl Rest Area is limited to mobility-impaired permit holders. The hunt is Jan. 3-4. Call 870-246-5501 for permit details and application.
  • Within the boundaries of the Lower DeGray Lake Waterfowl Rest Area, all killing devices are prohibited except by permitted participants of special hunts
    and archery equipment used for bow fishing.
  • Waterfowl hunting is allowed 30 minutes before sunrise until sunset during the waterfowl season.
  • No hunting within designated recreation areas.

  • During permit hunt, WMA remains open to nonpermitted seasons and public access.
