Erling

Access
The principal access routes to Erling are Arkansas Highway 29 to the west from Lewisville to Bradley and on the east by Arkansas Highway 53 from Stamps to the Louisiana line.

Statewide fishing regulations are in effect, except:Ten channel catfish and ten blue catfish may be taken in addition to the daily limit.Legal to take game fish with spear guns during season. Description
Lake Erling was constructed in the 1950s to supply water for the nearby International Paper mill in Springhill. The lake no longer is used for that purpose, and now is used as a conservation area for many species of wetland birds. Lake Erling was named for International Paper vice president, Erling Riis.
Location
Lake Erling is in southern Lafayette County in southwest Arkansas. Its dam is only 2 miles from the Louisiana state line.

White crappie, largemouth bass, channel catfish, bluegill, redear sunfish
Ownership
International Paper transferred ownership of Lake Erling to The American Gamebird Research Education and Development Foundation in 2014.
