During the last two decades, digital devices have drawn people, especially youngsters, indoors. A generation has become more interested in monitors and screens than the outside world. These 61 acres bring the indoors and outdoors together to create exhibits dedicated to conservation, restoration and education. This property, in the heart of Northwest Arkansas, was donated by the City of Springdale as a haven to highlight the region’s natural beauty, even as development continues around it. Everything on the property may be used to teach about conservation.
The J.B. and Johnelle Hunt Ozark Highlands Nature Center is located at 3400 North 40th Street in Springdale. The facility is expected to open in the fall of 2020.
Admission to the nature center will be free thanks to your support of the 1/8 Cent Conservation Sales Fund.
