Family and Community Fishing Program (FCFP)

The AGFC Family and Community Fishing Program provides memorable fishing opportunities throughout Arkansas. We bring fishing events, beginner fishing clinics and tagged fish contests to selected cities throughout Arkansas each year.


Catfish Stocking

April-June and Sept.-Oct.

Thousands of pounds of 13- to 15-inch channel catfish are stocked periodically at all Family and Community Fishing ponds from April through October.

Trout Stocking

Nov.-Feb.

Catchable-sized rainbow trout are stocked each winter from November through February across the state in Family and Community Fishing ponds. While most trout average just under a pound, a few 2-5 pounders are stocked each year.


Pond Regulations

Family and Community Fishing locations are open to fishing with rod or pole only. Largemouth bass must be released immediately. Catfish daily limit is three. Bream daily limit is 25. Trout daily limit is five. Anglers 16 and older must have a valid license to fish. Anglers 16 and older must have a trout permit in addition to their license to keep trout.

Daily Limits: 3-catfish, 5-trout, 25-bream

  • Largemouth bass may not be retained and must be released immediately into the water.
  • Open to fishing with handheld rod or pole only.
  • Individuals 16 and older must have a fishing license.
  • Trout permits are required if any trout are retained.
  • Lakes open to electric trolling motors only.

*Special Family and Community Fishing Regulations: These waters may be fished only by persons 15 and younger and 65 and older or disability fishing license holders. Properly licensed individuals that are 16-64 years old may assist and fish with someone who is a youth or disabled and is actively fishing.

Bonus Catfish Stockings: These waters were stocked with extra catfish thanks to a generous donation by Baxter Land Company Fish Farm in Desha County.
