The smallmouth bass are making a great target on the cool waters of the Spring River in northeast Arkansas. Mitch (no last name given) was fishing with Spring River guide Mark Crawford, when he caught this nice smallie on a  picture-perfect day (sure, it was hot, but the lower water temp helped). Crawford said the hotter weather has helped the smallmouth bite.He says they've been chasing smallies in deeper water areas, with black or olive Woolies tied to jigheads being hot lures.

Scott Seaman from northwest Arkansas showes off his limit of walleye that he caught in the Beaver Lake tailwater while fishing recently with guide Austin Kennedy. Kennedy says that walleye are still being caught towards Beaver town and Holiday Island. "Pulling deep-diving crank baits in 20 feet of water has been the preferred method. If you find yourself on a nice school of them, jig them with soft plastics or live minnows," Kennedy said.
