
Shooting sports regional competition begins April 30-May 1

JACKSONVILLE – After skipping a year because of the sudden arrival of the coronavirus last spring, the Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Program regionals and state championships are back in 2021. The first weekend of regional competition for junior high and senior high shooters is Friday and Saturday, April 30-May 1, at the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation Jacksonville Shooting Sports Complex.

Arkansas youths capture multiple national shooting sports titles

LINN CREEK, MO — COVID-19 may have caused the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission to cancel its regional and state championship trap tournaments during the summer, but Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Program participants still showed their stuff at this year’s Grand National Academics Integrity Marksmanship (AIM) Program Shoot at the Grand American Trap Shoot held Aug. 4-14.

Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Season Canceled

LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has canceled the upcoming season of the Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Program due to concerns stemming from the current coronavirus status in the United States. All regional shoots, as well as the 2020 AYSSP State Championship, have been canceled.

LITTLE ROCK — Student athletes considering participating in this year’s Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Program have a new reason to sign up and build their shotgunning skills: the chance to claim a $1,250 scholarship as top gun in the Champion of Champions shoot that will be held in conjunction with the program’s state championship event.

Youths experience squirrel, raccoon hunting at AYSSP getaway
