Quail Restoration Area

25 acres of the center grounds will be converted to an upland prairie to give visitors an idea of the types of habitat required to bring back Arkansas’s northern bobwhite population. The prairie habitat also will be filled with native wildflowers essential to many pollinator species such as butterflies, hummingbirds and dragonflies.

Inside, simulated blades of grass 6-feet tall will show children and adults what it’s like to have a “quail’s-eye-view,” of this habitat and help visitors understand how important this type of habitat is to quail and other ground-nesting birds.
