Shirey Bay Rainey Brake Flood Prone Region closed to deer hunting
October 30, 2009LITTLE ROCK – The Shirey Bay Rainey Brake Flood Prone Region has been added to the list of Arkansas’s closed deer hunting zones. Rising water has forced the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission to close deer hunting season in the following areas:
- ·Flood prone zone B – Reopens when the White River gauge at Augusta falls below 30 feet and the White River gauge at Georgetown falls to 19 feet.
- Flood prone zone C – Reopens when the Cache River gauge at Patterson falls to 9.5 feet.
- Flood prone zone D – Reopens when the White River gauge at Clarendon falls to 27 feet.
- Flood prone zone E – Reopens when the White River gauge at St. Charles falls to 23.5 feet.
- Shirey Bay Rainey Brake flood prone region – Reopens when the Black River gauge at Black Rock falls below 19 feet.
- Shirey Bay Rainey Brake WMA – Reopens when the Black River gauge at Black Rock falls below 19 feet.
- Dave Donaldson Black River WMA – Reopens when the Black River gauge at Corning falls below 9.5 feet.
- Henry Gray Hurricane Lake WMA – Reopens when the White River gauge at Georgetown falls below 14 feet.
- Rex Hancock Black Swamp WMA – Reopens when the Cache River gauge at Patterson falls below 8.5 feet.
