Hunting Permits

There are several different types of permits available for deer hunting.  These permits are described below.  To learn more about each permit, use the hyperlinks at the bottom of this page.

Leased Land Permits

Permits are available for $20 which entitle the holder to hunt, trap and camp on the leased lands listed below. Each leased lands WMA requires a separate permit.

LEASED LANDS

1) Big Timber WMA; 2) Casey Jones WMA; 3) Cherokee WMA; 3A) Jim Kress WMA; 4) Gum Flats WMA; 5) Lafayette County WMA; 6) Provo WMA; and 7) Moro Big Pine Natural Area WMA.

WMA Deer Hunt Permits 

Each year, applications for permit deer hunts on WMAs are available in June. Drawings are held in July and successful applicants are notified in August.  It is unlawful to fail to comply with the terms of a Commission-issued permit. Other hunting seasons, except waterfowl, are closed during permit hunts, unless otherwise noted on the back of the permit.  The cost of these permits is $10.

Zone and WMA Doe Quota Permits

The Zone and WMA Doe Quota permit hunt applications will be accepted from June 1 - June 30, 2008.  These permits can only be obtained by applying on the official forms or online. 

There is no charge for the doe quota permits.
