Alligator Hunting

For the first time in modern history, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission held an alligator hunting season in September 2007.  The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service approved an Arkansas Game and Fish Commission plan to open an alligator hunting season for the 2007 season.  The alligator hunt – seven years in the making – was approved for one year with reports and monitoring required for subsequent hunts.

It has not yet been determined if a hunt will be held for the 2008 season.
