Regulations

License Requirements

Residents 16 years or older will be required to have a valid Resident Sportsman's License. 
Nonresidents will be required to have a Nonresident All Game, 5-day All Game or 3-day All Game Hunting License.
Holders of the $1,000 Lifetime License, regardless of state of residency, are also eligible.

Hunters born after 1968 must carry a valid Hunter Education card.  Hunters under 16 years of age must supply a valid
Hunter Education number in order to apply for a permit. 

 

Arkansas Elk Zones

 

Arkansas' elk hunting is on public lands of the Buffalo National River and the Arkansas Game
and Fish Commission's Gene Rush Wildlife Management Area, as well as adjacent private lands
within Elk Zones 1 through 4.
