Youth Hunt: April 9-10, 2016. Two bearded turkeys, no more than one jake.
Firearms Hunt: April 16-May 1, 2016. Two bearded turkeys, no jakes (youths may take one jake as part of their statewide seasonal limit).
Deer Archery: Sept. 26, 2015-Feb. 29, 2016.
Deer Modern Gun (permit hunt): Nov. 18-19, 2015.
Deer Modern Gun Youth Hunt: Oct. 3-4, 2015.
Deer Modern Gun Mobility Impaired Hunt (permit hunt): Dec. 9-10, 2015. Contact the U.S. Corps of Engineers, 501-324-6957, for more information and to obtain a mobility-impaired permit.
WMA Deer Bag Limit:
Three deer, no more than two bucks, which may include:
• Two bucks with archery,
• Three does with archery,
• One buck or doe with modern gun permit.
Deer Notes: Three-point rule. No dogs. Limit during the modern gun youth hunt is two deer: one buck (no antler restrictions) and one doe. During mobility-impaired permit hunt, hunters may take two deer, one buck (no antler restrictions) and one doe.

Deer hunting on this area is restricted to special permit hunts.

Sept. 1, 2015-Feb. 21,2016. Open Thursdays through Mondays. No limit.

Area Notes:
  • The area is closed to all trapping.
  • The area is open for training raccoon dogs at night and rabbit dogs year-round, except during organized field trials. 
  • Quail dog training is allowed Oct. 1- April 15 except during firearms deer hunts where dogs are not allowed. 
  • Closed during field trails. Click here for a list of scheduled trials.    
  • All organized horse and mule events on J. Perry Mikles Blue Mountain SUA are required to be scheduled/reserved annually by July 1 through the Area Manager.      
  • All pleasure riding is restricted to dates when no field trials are being conducted.  
  • Annual field trial schedule will be posted at area headquarters.
