Seasons and Regulations
Turkey:
Youth Hunt (permit required, hunting ends at 1 p.m., daily): April 12-13, 2014. One bearded turkey.
Firearms Hunt (permit required, hunting ends at 1 p.m., daily):
April 19-21, April 26-28, and May 2-4, 2014. One bearded turkey, no jakes (youths may take one jake as part of their statewide seasonal bag limit).
Archery Hunt (no permit required):
April 22-24 and April 29-May 1, 2014. Two bearded turkeys, no jakes (youths may take one jake as part of their statewide seasonal limit).
Turkey Permit:
Turkey hunting on this area is restricted to special permit hunts.

Deer:
Deer Archery: Sept. 28, 2013-Feb. 28, 2014.
Deer Muzzleloader (permit hunt): Oct. 19-23, 2013.
Deer Modern Gun (permit hunt): Nov. 9-13, 2013.
WMA Deer Bag Limit:
Four deer, no more than two bucks, which may include:
• Two bucks with archery,
• Four does with archery,
• One buck and one doe with muzzleloader permit,
• One buck and one doe with modern gun permit.
Deer Notes: 15-inch inside spread or 18-inch main beam rule. No dogs.
Deer Permit:
Deer hunting on this area is restricted to special permit hunts.

Quail:
Nov. 1, 2013-Feb. 2, 2014. Daily limit - 6, possession limit -12. Bird dogs allowed.
Rabbit:
Sept. 1, 2013-Feb. 28, 2014. Daily limit - 8, possession limit - 16. Dogs allowed except during firearms deer hunts.
Squirrel:
May 15, 2013-Feb. 28, 2014. Dogs allowed except during firearms deer hunts. Daily limit - 12, possession limit - 48.
Crow:
Sept. 1, 2013-Feb. 21,2014. Open Thursdays through Mondays. No limit.

Area Notes:
  • Waterfowl hunters may not possess shot shells containing shot larger than No. 2 and may possess no more than 15 shells unless hunters are in camping, parking or boat launching areas or during the Special Youth Waterfowl Hunt.
  • Travel by boat is not allowed on Latin Drain, Firehunt Slough and Third Slough except during high-water periods when boating access is possible to the Deep Slough Dam. In this case, boats may be used area wide; however, boat motors may only be used on Cut-off Creek and Deep Slough.
  • Cut-Off Creek WMA is closed to all trespassing (except in designated campsites, parking areas and boat launch ramps) from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. during duck season (including opening days of season segments).
  • Airboats may not be operated during duck season.
  • Nonresidents need a Nonresident Wildlife Management Hunting Permit to hunt waterfowl.
