Aerial Waterfowl Surveys

The AGFC and Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks conduct aerial surveys using the same methods and at approximately the same times. The combined information from both agencies may provide a more complete picture of waterfowl distribution across a large portion of the Delta.

Mississippi Flyway Migration Map and Forecast

The Missouri Department of Conservation, in cooperation with Arkansas and several other state and federal agencies, developed a mallard migration map to track duck abundance throughout the season.

Mississippi State University researchers and Long Point Waterfowl Research Center have teamed up to develop a weather severity index to help predict migration movements throughout the Mississippi Flyway. The forecast is not an indicator of actual waterfowl numbers, but possible movements with impending weather changes.
