The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Fisheries Division plays a vital role in managing the state’s fishery resources, the end result is some of the finest fishing North America has to offer. For many sport fish, whether it’s trout, bass or even paddlefish we strive to preserve and enhance our nationally famous fisheries. Through research, management plans, and an extensive hatchery system (which provides for appropriately balanced fish stockings), your fishing satisfaction is the most important goal.
While we do a lot for fish, we also spend a good part of our time with people! Through the construction of lakes, boat ramps, parking areas, fishing piers and courtesy docks, the Fisheries Division takes the lead in ensuring there are plenty of opportunities for Arkansans and tourists alike to enjoy Arkansas waters! We, in the Fisheries Division, incorporate sound management techniques with public input to produce one of the most successful fisheries around.
