New for 2010

  • Clarified definition of “shad” specifically as “gizzard and threadfin shad” in the definition of baitfish. Page 31.

  • Rescinded the largemouth bass catch and release regulation for Lake Ashbaugh and imposed a largemouth bass daily creel limit of six fish. Page 56.

  • Removed Community Fishing Program restrictions from T.J. House Reservoir, Mulberry Water Supply Lake.

  • Clarified requirement to have a license to take all aquatic wildlife. Page 16.

  • Increased the daily limit of catfish for bowfishers. Page 10.

  • Removed the daily limit of Northern Pike.

  • Lowered the daily limit, implemented a season and permit for alligator gar. Pages 8, 10 and 42.

  • Added a designated boundary for the South Fork of the Ouachita River. Page 75.

  • On the Saline and Ouachita rivers there is now a 13 inch minimum for largemouth bass caught during normal water levels (65 feet MSL at Felsenthal Lock and Dam and 77 feet MSL at Thatcher Lock and Dam). Pages 75-76.

  • Removed limits on channel and blue catfish on the Sulphur River, Red River and Little River. Pages 74, 76. 

  • In the Bull Shoals Dam Catch and Release Area, the Bull Shoals Dam Seasonal Brown Trout Catch and Release Area, the Rim Shoals Catch and Release Area (near Cotter) and the Norfork Catch and Release Area, artificial flies or lures and multiplepoint hooks are now allowed, as long as all hooking points are barbless. See pages 74, 77. 

  • The Sylamore Catch and Release Area (immediately upstream of Jack’s Resort) no longer exists. See pages 76-77.

  • The Norfork Catch and Release Area’s borders have been redefined. See Page 74.
