Master Angler Award

Master Angler Award

Program Overvew

Arkansas's Master Angler Award Program began in 1985 to recognize anglers who catch trophy fish that are not state records. There are eight categories in the program: black bass, sunfish, crappie, pike and true perch, catfish, trout, true bass and rough fish.

How Do I Qualify?

lf you are fishing with a rod and reel and catch a fish that meets the minimum weight; you can participate in the program. To be a certified "Master Angler," you must catch a qualifying fish in at least four categories. They do not have to be caught in the same year.

What Will I Receive?

If you catch a qualifying fish in a single category, you will receive a clutch-back pin depicting fish in that category and a letter of recognition. Once you have caught a qualifying fish in four categories and become a “Master Angler,” you will receive a certificate suitable for framing.
