Arkansas State Fish Art Contest
The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and Wildlife Forever have joined together to promote conservation awareness and catch the imagination of young artists. The contest encourages young artists to create an illustration of their chosen state fish. The illustration must be accompanied by a written composition on its behavior, habitat and conservation needs.
Students in Grades 4-12 are eligible, and three categories give students in each state the opportunity to compete with children their age.
Contestants with winning entries will receive a gift certificate for art supplies from Cheap Joe’s Art Stuff, fishing tackle from Rapala and many other great prizes. They also will be featured on the official State Fish Art Web site.
One gallery-quality winning entry will be used for the 2009 Art of Conservation Stamp.
Entries must be postmarked by March 31, annually. Winners are announced May 1. For more information on the contest, visit www.statefishart.com.
