Mobility Impaired Deer Hunt
A deer hunt for the mobility impaired takes place the second weekend of December each year. The dates for the Special Mobility Impaired Hunt are December 7-9, 2007.
There will be a mandatory orientation prior to the hunt. To qualify, applicants must be mobility impaired. Mobility impaired is defined as a permanent physical condition that severely impairs a person’s mobility either from paralysis or amputation of lower extremities, which requires the assistance of a wheelchair, braces, crutches or other similar aids of mobility. Applicants must provide a letter from a physician to verify that the applicant’s physical condition severely impairs his mobility without proper assistance.
The level of impairment must be stated in the letter to verify the extent of the applicant’s condition. The physician’s letter must be on official letterhead with the physician’s original signature.
