Flooding on Dave Donaldson could be delayed
Because of infrastructure maintenance and repair on the Dave Donaldson Black River Wildlife Management Area, the fall flooding schedule on the area's greentree reservoirs could be delayed up to 10 days until mid or late October.

Lake Overcup cleanup begins this weekend
A cleanup at Lake Overcup will be held sunrise-sunset, Oct. 9-10, at the popular Conway County fishery. Volunteers are encouraged to attend.

Cache River NWR accepting applications for youth waterfowl hunt
Cache River National Wildlife Refuge is accepting applications for the Youth Only Waterfowl Hunt. In 2009, the refuge acquired 1,180 acres along Bayou DeView in Woodruff County and designated this area as a special youth-only waterfowl hunt area.

WMAs and NWRs visitors must abide by local burn bans
It's deer season across Arkansas and current weather conditions call for heightened levels of extreme fire danger. Bow-hunters should be aware that there are numerous burn bans across the state. County burn bans also apply to wildlife management areas.

Wildlife officer Michael Neal named officer of the year
Attorney General Dustin McDaniel today recognized Wildlife Officer Michael K. Neal of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission as the Officer of the Year at the Attorney General's 2010 Outstanding Law Enforcement Officers of the Year awards ceremony.
