AGFC sets date to implementInterstate Wildlife Violator Compact

LITTLE ROCK – Beginning July 1, theArkansas Game and Fish Commission will become a part of the Interstate WildlifeViolator Compact. The Compact is an agreement between member states thatrecognizes suspension of hunting, fishing and trapping licenses across statelines. Commissioners from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission approved theeffective date for joining the Compact during last week’s monthly meeting. 

Lake Chicot drawdown begins thissummer

LAKE VILLAGE - The Arkansas Game andFish Commission, along with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, will reduce thewater level on Lake Chicot beginning July 7. The lake will be lowered to the100 feet mean sea level mark by Aug. 18.
