MOUNTAIN HOME – Commissioners with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission last week discussed dove season, the unofficial opening of Arkansas’s fall hunting season, at its monthly meeting in Mountain Home.

Ron Pierce ends AGFC term with satisfaction
MOUNTAIN HOME – Ron Pierce closed his final meeting as chairman of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, leaned back and smiled. It was a smile of satisfaction. His term ends June 30.

Officers across the nation team up for Operation Dry Water
LEXINGTON, Ky. – With boating under the influence continuing to be a major factor in accidents and deaths on our nation’s waterways, thousands of officers with local, state and federal agencies will again team up for Operation Dry Water in a coordinated effort to be on the water providing heightened enforcement and awareness about the dangers of boating under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

AGFC, angler to stock at Big Bass Bonanza
LITTLE ROCK - The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission again invited Arkansas Big Bass Bonanza participants to help stock more than 100,000 largemouth bass fingerlings in the Arkansas River during the statewide bass tournament Friday, June 28.

Corps suspends lockage closures on Arkansas River during week of Big Bass Bonanza
LITTLE ROCK – The Army Corps of Engineers will suspend the recreational lockage closures and maintenance lock closures June 24-30 on the Arkansas River during the Big Bass Bonanza. The closures will resume July 1. Commercial towboats will continue to have priority lockages during the tournament.
