USFWS delists Magazine Mountain shagreen
PARIS – In the highest parts of Arkansas’s Ozarks, the slow-moving Magazine Mountain shagreen snail won the race to become the first invertebrate to be delisted under the Endangered Species Act.

Spring Hill, Mount Ida AYSSP squads snag regional titles
LONOKE – Under almost ideal shooting conditions, over 210 teams competed in this week’s Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Program regional tournament. The Springhill Junior Bears won the junior division and the Mount Ida A Team won the senior division. The regional tournament was held May 10-11 at the Remington range near Lonoke. 

ANRC needs public input for Arkansas water plan
LITTLE ROCK – The Arkansas Natural Resources Commission is in the process of writing a new Arkansas water plan. The plan is a comprehensive program for the orderly development and management of water and related land resources, or in other words, it is the state policy for water.

$500 largemouth bass caught on Lake Hamilton
HOT SPRINGS – A Bismarck woman awoke Tuesday morning and told her husband they were going to catch a “money fish” out of Lake Hamilton in the 2013 $60,000 Hot Springs Fishing Challenge.

And she did it.
