White River watershed recognized as National Blueway
LITTLE ROCK – Deputy Secretary of the Interior David J. Hayes today announced that the White River, along with its watershed, has been named the nation’s second National Blueway.

LITTLE ROCK – The numbers confirm it. Arkansas deer hunters have had their best deer season ever, and it is not over.

AGFC temporarily closes Blue Mountain Lake to commercial fishing for catfish
MAGAZINE – The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has temporarily closed commercial fishing for catfish on Blue Mountain Lake in western Arkansas. The closure is needed due to the extreme low water conditions and takes place immediately. The lake is located south of Mount Magazine in Logan and Yell counties.

Jacksonville grandmother wins AGFC trout-tagging grand prize
SHERWOOD – For 83-year-old Rossine Jones of Jacksonville, this Christmas has been a special one for the avid angler. Jones won the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s grand prize in the agency’s Family and Community Fishing Program trout tagging.

NRCS accepting applications from Arkansas farmers and ranchers for key conservation program
LITTLE ROCK – The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service is accepting applications to help producers improve water and air quality, build healthier soil, improve grazing and forest lands, conserve energy, enhance organic operations, and achieve other environmental benefits.
