Fishing Tip of the Week: As daysget colder, fish get deeper. Winter is an excellent time to get out in a boatand find crappie, bass and other game fish schooled up in deep bends of riverchannels and off deep points. Spend some time cruising in the boat, looking forconcentrations of fish. When you see a school, drop a small curly tailed grubon a quarter-ounce jighead straight below the boat and allow it to drift acouple of inches off the bottom. Crappie, bass, white bass and walleye will alltake the grub, so it’s a good way to find out what you have beneath the boat.
