LITTLE ROCK - Modern gun deer season opens this weekend and anticipation builds by the hour. Get license, got gun, got ammunition, got the orange vest and cap, got a good place to hunt. But are you fully prepared?

PRESCOTT – Tom Trotter traveled a thousand miles to take his first deer with a muzzle-loading rifle. His success was helped along by the Arkansas Wildlife Officers Association, a hunting club and an anonymous gift.

ANRC announces Arkansas water plan meetings
LITTLE ROCK – The Arkansas Natural Resources Commission will hold a series of public meetings designed to provide information about the Arkansas Water Plan. The meetings will be held throughout the state beginning Nov. 13 in Fayetteville. Three additional meetings will be held in Jonesboro, Little Rock and El Dorado.
