High water temperatures causing concern on Little Red
HEBER SPRINGS – High water temperatures on the Little Red River below Greers Ferry Dam are causing concern for Arkansas Game and Fish Commission biologists. The high temperatures have the potential to cause serious harm to the popular trout fishery.

Hunter education provides benefits for a lifetime
LITTLE ROCK – Don’t get caught up in the last minute rush. With hunting seasons approaching, outdoors people, young and not so young, around the state are urged to sign up for hunting education classes to get acquainted with the skills, regulations and responsibilities that every hunter needs to know.

$50,000 Hot Springs Fishing Challenge extended
HOT SPRINGS – The $50,000 Hot Springs Fishing Challenge on Lake Hamilton and Lake Catherine has been extended until August 31.

NWR modern gun quota deer hunt permits available August 1
AUGUSTA – Beginning August 1, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will be accepting permit applications for quota deer hunts on three of is wildlife refuges. The quota hunts will be held on the Cache River, Bald Knob and Wapanocca national wildlife refuges in eastern Arkansas.
