BROOKINGS – The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is working with contractors to renovate and improve gates and stop-logs that control the flow of water on Dave Donaldson Black River Wildlife Management Area in northeastern Arkansas.

Contractors also are working to clear boat lanes, which will cause a slight delay in the normal schedule of flooding greentree waterfowl areas.

The WMA staff will begin putting in boards to hold water Oct. 17-21. Plans are to place gates in Little River Dam so flooding can begin by Oct. 21.
