CHIDESTER - Contractors for the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will apply aquatic herbicide on the south end of Upper White Oak Lake during the week of Aug. 1. Depending on weather conditions, the herbicide will be applied in the morning by airplane.
The purpose of the herbicide treatment is to help control the spread of fragrant water lily throughout Upper White Oak Lake and reopen areas of the lake to fishing. Signs designating treatment areas will be placed at access areas warning boaters of the herbicide treatments.
Please, stay out of these areas during application. If you have any additional questions, feel free to contact the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission fisheries staff at the South Central Regional Office, 877-836-4612.
