Beebe, Greenwood squads snag AYSSP titles
LONOKE – The Mavericks from Beebe and the Outlaws from Greenwood Bulldogs were the top shooters in the senior and junior divisions at the recently completed state finals of the Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Program. The tournament was held June 3-4 at the Remington range near Lonoke.

Wildlife officers set to crack down on impaired boaters
LITTLE ROCK – Boaters would do better to leave the cold beer at home – especially this weekend. Arkansas Game and Fish Commission wildlife officers will be out on Arkansas’s waters June 24-26 for "Operation Dry Water 2011," the annual national crackdown on those Boating Under the Influence of alcohol or drugs.

Arbor Day activities benefit The Ravine and Ouachita River
ARKADELPHIA – More than 50 Ouachita Baptist University volunteers partnered with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Stream Team program Friday, April 29, to observe Arbor Day by planting trees along The Ravine that flows through OBU’s campus on its way to the Ouachita River.

Batesville shooting sports complex dedication is June 11
BATESVILLE – An new shooting sports complex will be dedicated on June 11 in Batesville. The Paul H. "Rocky" Willmuth Sport Shooting Complex was cooperatively developed between the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, Independence County and the City of Batesville.

Big Bass Bonanza coming up on Arkansas River June 24-26
LITTLE ROCK – The state’s most popular fishing competition, the Arkansas Big Bass Bonanza, is coming up June 24-26 on the Arkansas River – all of the Arkansas River in the state.
